EDINBURGH FRINGE 2017

My, doesn't it come by quickly?
(A: It does)
This year I'll be returning Scotward with a two-week run of Marcel Lucont's Whine List, plus a few little extras:

MARCEL LUCONT'S WHINE LIST
Aug 15th - 27th
8.20pm
Pleasance Dome (Queen Dome)
"A kind of group therapy experience where everybody potentially leaves more depressed." Marcel will be collecting whines once again from various audience members, dishing out disdain where advice would traditionally be.

ALEXIS DUBUS VERSES THE WORLD - VINTAGE MOBILE CINEMA
Aug 17th
6pm
Outside Assembly Rooms, George Street
The intrepid Ben Moorhouse is parking his delightful Vintage Mobile Cinema outside the Assembly Rooms. As part of "Audrey's Absolute Fest-Of-All" I'll be performing an hour of poems and songs, old and new, in its intimate environs. Worth having a little browse of the website, for the history of Audrey's discovery and restoration:

MARCEL LUCONT: GAELIC SYMBOL
Aug 23rd
10.45pm
Pleasance Beneath
Professional Marcel Lucont impersonator Alexis Dubus performs the French comedian's acclaimed 2012 Ĺ“uvre "Gallic Symbol" entirely in a Scottish accent.
Part of Mark Watson's Festival Of Bad Ideas

ALTERNATIVE COMEDY MEMORIAL SOCIETY
Aug 21st - 23rd
11.50pm
The Monkey Barrel
Late, great and consummate-ly weird. I'll be trying out 3 new acts of failure here.

SOME MEN ALL BISCUIT 2 - MORE BISCUIT
Aug 22nd
6.35pm
The Liquid Room Warehouse
Another load of Fringe comics belting out their favourite Half Man Half Biscuit tracks. Pay what you want, all proceeds to British Red Cross.
SMAB2 Facebook Event

SET LIST
Aug 16th & 25th (as Marcel)
10.30pm
Gilded Balloon
A perennial favourite, conjuring up nonsense from other nonsense. When it works it really works, when it doesn't it's still fascinating to watch.

NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM
Aug 15th & 24th (as Marcel)
Aug 18th - 20th (hosting as myself)
10.30pm
Gilded Balloon At The Museum
A very fun show where comics have to improvise knowledgeable talks on obscure artefacts from the National Museum Of Scotland's archives. Like the show above but with pictures.

THIS HOLLYWOOD LIFE

If there's one question I'm asked again and again, it's "When will we get to see you and Paul Hollywood bumbling around rural France in a 2CV for a BBC motoring show?" Well, finally it's happened folks. Paul Hollywood's Big Continental Road Trip will be on BBC2, 9pm on Sunday 11th June. You'll also be able to catch it on iPlayer HERE from thereonafterhence.

Red smeggin' Dwarf!!

I'm really quite excited to announce that I'll be making an appearance in Episode 1 of Red Dwarf Series XI, entitled "Twentica." Also appearing are the wonderful Lucie Pohl and the mighty Kevin Eldon.
I had so much fun filming this last December, what a fine crew they were.
You can see the episode on Dave on 22nd September, or a week earlier on UKTV Play RIGHT HERE.

1st May 2016

As I took a break last year I'm hitting Edinburgh Fringe really quite hard this year. Will also be doing approximately 1,000 guest spots, so look out on Facebook, Twitter, Bauble etc.
Just because I made up "Bauble" doesn't mean you shouldn't check it out.

MARCEL DISCUSSES RUGBY ON IRISH TV

As a go-to expert on everything, my alter-ego will be embarking on new territory and discussing sport on Ireland's TV3 show The Sin Bin, hosted by the brilliant Andrew Maxwell. Presumably they couldn't find an actual Frenchman. It's live on Thursday 8th October and Irish viewers can see watch it afterwards HERE.
Those in other countries will just have to imagine what it would have been like, but assume that it will contain surliness and Gallic superiority.

28th Sep 2015

LIAM MULLONE'S DISAPPOINTING WORLD - BBC Radio 4

This Sunday, 4th October, at 7.15pm you can hear Liam Mullone's excellent Radio 4 pilot about some of humaity's greatest failings, featuring voicey bits from me and Eri Jackson.
You can listen again for a limited time HERE.

12th July 2015

CARS AND GIRLS - "SECRET" PERFORMANCE AT EDINBURGH FRINGE

Did I really think I could just "pop in" to Edinburgh without doing a show? It seems not. I'll be doing a secret-ish one-off performance of Cars And Girls on Monday 17th August at 10.15pm in the Chamber Room of Banshee Labyrinth on Niddry Street (formerly the Nicol Edwards, where I did my first ever solo Fringe show). It's free entry (i.e. pay-what-you want) and is a pretty cosy venue, so get there nice and early if you want seats.
I'll also be doing a selection of spots up there from Aug 14th-17th, including ACMS and Set List. Full details in the Gigs section.

20th July 2015

MARCEL AT LE ROYAL ALBERT HALL

It's heartening to know that the more inflated Monsieur Lucont's ego gets, the grander the venues become. I've been asked to do an hour-long Marcel show at the Elgar Room of the Royal Albert Hall on September 21st. It's a double-bill with the excellent Carl Donnelly and tickets are on sale now: Royal Albert Hall.

10th June 2015

JOHN BISHOP SHOW - BBC1

John has kindly asked me back to do a set as Marcel for his Saturday night BBC1 variety show, recorded at Hackney Empire. My episode will air on June 27th at 9.45pm. Also available on BBC iPlayer.

25th May 2015

NEW LONDON DATE FOR CARS AND GIRLS

Thanks to all who came to the Soho Theatre run of Cars And Girls (and all the other dates too, obviously). For those Londoners who missed it, I'll be doing a one-off on June 23rd at Amused Moose in Piccadilly. Tickets are available HERE.

I'll also be performing the show at Shambala in Northamptonshire, which is Aug 27th-30th. Exact dates and times TBC.

17th March 2015

CHORTLE AWARDLE

As of last night I am now the proud owner of a Chortle Award, specifically the one for Best Character, Improv or Sketch Act. Thanks a billion to all who voted for me. The full list of winners can be found HERE.
