First up is Brighton Fringe - I'm playing on May 21st and 22nd. Then the biggie is the Edinburgh Fringe, from August 5th-30th. My show times are: A Surprisingly Tasteful Show About Nudity - 5pm at The Tron, Hunter Square. All tickets £5. Marcel Lucont: Encore - 9.30pm at Underbelly, Cowgate. Tickets £6 - £9.50. For full details, and details of other smaller festivals I'm playing, see my Gigs section. Tickets for the Edinburgh Fringe go on sale at the start of June. Buy some! Please...
12th February 2010Surveying the situationNew year, new show. For my latest show, A Surprisingly Tasteful Show About Nudity, I'm collecting responses about peoples' attitudes towards the taboo of nudity in society. Getting some really good responses already, and you can fill in that very survey here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KFS26MC Thanks!

1st July 2009It's Edinburgh Fringe time again! That's right, it's come round quicker than a passed-out Scotsman getting a sniff of whisky, but in just a month's time I'll be heading up to Edinburgh to ply my wares once again. This year's wares take the form of Marcel Lucont: Sexual Metro at the Smirnoff Underbelly at 10.20pm. I'll also be repeating A R#ddy Brief History Of Swearing, this time in The Tron as part of the Five Pound Fringeat 6.20pm. Plus Monsieur Lucont will be hosting two nights for the Free Fringe: Marcel Lucont's Cabaret Fantastique on August 17th & 24th at 11.45pm at Nicol Edwards Cinema on Niddry Street. The Scotsman have put me in their Top 100 Fringe Shows To See list. Which was nice. If you can't make the Fringe and want to catch a preview, check out my Gigs section.
27th July 2009The award-winning Monsieur LucontIt seems that at least one of the 12 people who saw my show Marcel Lucont: Sexual Metro at the Buxton Fringe at the start of the month enjoyed it, as they've decided to give it an award, for Best Comedy Individual. With any luck this may boost my numbers to 13 for next year's show...
1st December 2008Swearin' all over the world...A R#ddy Brief History Of Swearing is making its way around the world step by step, starting in Camden at the Etcetera Theatrefrom Jan 7th-10th, then relocating to Leicester Comedy Festival on Feb 8th & 9th, before finally jetting off to the Adelaide Fringe (Feb 27th - Mar 22nd) and Melbourne Comedy Festival (Apr 2nd - 26th). Links to the venues are available in my Gigssection.
25 th August 2008R#ddy Brief History wins a r#ddy award!Awwww yeah! A R#ddy Brief History Of Swearing has gone and won itself an Editors' Choice Award from Three Weeks as one of their Top 10 Fringe Experiences 2008. It's also picked up a lovely 5-star and a 4-star review - see the Reviews section. The show will be making appearances back in London, and hopefully at other festivals, including Adelaide and Melbourne next year. Keep an eye on the Gigs section if you missed it in Edinburgh and want to catch it.
25 th May 2008Edinburgh 2008I'm taking my debut solo show up to the Edinburgh Fringe this year. It's called A R#ddy Brief History Of Swearing and is pretty self-explanatory really. It reveals the origins of those four-letter words that will be making several appearances at shows at the Fringe this year. I've been reseraching my arse off and I reckon it's going to be a top show. Plus it's part of PBH's Free Fringe, so you've got no excuse! Come and see it motherfathers. You can see more info HERE Cat Of The Week will also be making their Fringe debut, as part of daily sketch showcase Fine Sketchup. More info on that HERE I'm doing a few previews of my solo show - see my Gigssection. Come along and help me make it a better show...

7 th February 2007Falling Down With Laughter 2007OK, I've been a liiiiittle bit lazy when it comes to updating my own News section. This is hardly news in itself, so I guess I'd better put up our latest Falling Down With Laughter dates. 9 th March 2006Honey I gunked the kidsStarting from next week I'll be playing some characters and doing some voiceovers for Nickelodeon's The Crunch. This involves silly voices, pratting around and throwing brightly-coloured goo over defenceless children. Should be great! The show's on Nickelodeon every weekday from 7am-9am.
24 th February 2006No Brakes To Banjul - sneak previewThe finished film may be a long way off yet but a sneak preview of Sy's and my adventures on the road to Africa is now online at the Shots website. The proper trailer will be out shortly, but Rich has done a fine job of putting together this swiftly-edited clip, which hopefully proves that we weren't just off making sandcastles for a month. We also touched donkeys, got robbed and in Sy's case, swore quite a lot. You can see the trailer here: (requires Quicktime)
28 th January 2006Falling Down With Laughter 2006After somehow making it to the The Gambia and back in one piece, we've got a new run of Falling Down With Laughter starting in February. 29 th November 2005Anyone for desert? In a month’s time Sy and I will be embarking on a mission a little more challenging than running a little comedy bunker in London Bridge – we’re off to do the Plymouth-Banjul Challenge. This basically involves us travelling to West Africa in a car that cost about £100, to help charitable causes in Senegal and The Gambia. It’s being filmed by old Uni mate and soon-to-be legendary documentary-maker Rich Nicholls. We’ll be travelling through France, Spain, Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal and The Gambia for 3 weeks from December 29th. We’ve got ourselves a Ford Bronco, some tents and enough mechanical knowledge to cover a badger’s handkerchief. Please wish us luck. It’s the least we need. The official website is here: And here's a map that makes it look nice and easy:
9 th October 2005Same venue, different showWe’re starting up a spanking new night from October 18th. The Monkey Bunker will be a monthly showcase of new talent, featuring music, spoken word, sketch and character comedy and basically any other form of entertainment that’s legal and will fit into a cosy box beneath the streets of Borough. Tuesday 18th October 8pm £3 entry We’re still looking for acts for the November and December gigs. If you’ve got a talent you'd like to share with us just get in contact.
30 th August 2005The new season's line-upFalling Down With Laughter is back with a vengeance on September 13th, featuring some great stand-up, sketch, character and musical acts. Plus, Stewart Lee is coming down to do an extended set on our first night. I'm more excited than a horse in a sugar-cube igloo. 20 th July 2005Falling Down - moving on upOur little club has had a summer makeover! And not even one of those rubbish ones some people have done where they end up looking like a bleached-blonde Oompa-Loompa. MASSIVE thanks to Belushi’s for pulling such an amazing surprise on us. What’s more, we had a storming night courtesy of Phil Nichol and Dave Fulton. You can see the new décor, and our happy little faces, below:
5 th June 2005Falling Down With Laughter – Edinburgh previews and June / July line-upThe club will be going weekly from June 7th, as we've got some great Edinburgh previews nestled between our regular nights, like humorous voles. 31 st May 2005And the winner is...Greece! Twice! Last week, in the only European talent contest that mattered this May - the Eurojokin' Gong Contest - the prize went to Miss Vicky Frangopoulos of Greece. Many thanks to the other 4 contestants, and to Germany for dropping out at the last minute, allowing us a bit of guilt-free piss-taking of your nation. Thanks to Vicky's triumphant efforts, Greece then went on to win the actual Eurovision Song Contest four days later - another example of life imitating art. Which, of course, it was. Pure art. I can still taste that onion... Click below to see the contestants, the winner, Priorite A Gauche and the no-expenses-made trophy:
27 th April 2005Falling Down With Laughter – with extra yoghurtThere was another fight for chairspace last night at the club, largely due to having the brilliant RICHARD HERRING on the bill, who managed to maintain a yoghurt-based rant for over 20 minutes. Thanks also to the ever-charming TOM PRICE and of course ANDREW LAWRENCE who stepped in at the last minute and frankly stormed it. Here's some proof that it actually happened: The next line-up is: ADAM BLOOM Tuesday May 10 th
12 th April 2005Falling Down With Laughter – back on trackThat's more like it – a night where everything goes right! PAUL KERENSA was on fine form as our opening act, also providing the best ex-girlfriend / games console-based pun ever heard at Falling Down With Laughter. Then ELECTRIC FORECAST set the standard for the most energetic middle section ever, including some impromptu American wrestling and press-ups. And finally the impossible-to-not-love LUCY PORTER brought the night to a fantastic climax, and we still respected her in the morning. What a night! Special thanks to all our regular punters – you know who you are! Here's a photopictorial montagette from the night: Our next show brings you none other than comedy hero Richard Herring. Be there! The full line-up: RICHARD HERRING Tuesday April 26 th
30 th March 2005Falling Down With Laughter – Oops!Well, I guess it was all going a bit too well. Last night we had our first proper balls-up at Falling Down With Laughter when a perfectly good night was cut short by several thousand decibels of R ‘n' B being pumped into our cosy little room and the mic cutting out completely. Not perfect for a headline act that relies largely on mic-based sound effects and an audience's ability to hear them. Major apologies to Rhys Darby, whose usually brilliant finale instead had to be replaced by a kazoo solo (now that's improvisation). The management have apologised their faces off and we've been assured it won't happen again. Great work earlier on in the night too from Matt Kirshen and Steve Oram's brilliantly surreal Steve Woman character. Once again here are some snaps from the night: The line-up for the next show (as recommended by Chortle) is: LUCY PORTER Tuesday April 12 th 16 th March 2005Falling Down With Laughter – third time ducky…Another top night has been and gone at Falling Down With Laughter. Big thanks to Tom Bell, Dutch Elm Conservatoire and of course, Rob Rouse, ending the night in style with the usual cheeky banter, not to mention the Aylesbury duck and Snoop Dogg impressions. This was all held together by the mouth of Mr Sy Thomas, friend, compere, and spiky-haired minstrel. Here's the line-up for the next show: RHYS DARBY Tuesday March 29 th
2nd March 2005Falling Down With Laughter – total sell-out!OK so it’s not Wembley, but our second night was totally sold out. Woo! We crammed as many people as we could in to the cosy little room of Belushi’s Bar and a great time was had by all. Thanks again to the acts, the audience and the Aussies. It was a lot of fun. See photos below (click to enlarge): The line-up for the third show is as follows: ROB ROUSE Tuesday March 15 th
16th February 2005Falling Down With Laughter – Show 2A big thank you to all the acts and audience who made it down for our first night of Falling Down With Laughter. Without acts and audience it would have been rubbish. As it was, Sy and I were chuffed (especially once the heating was sorted out…). It had everything we’d hoped for on our opening night – belly-laughs, crazy antics, songs about Judaism, and a seven-foot tall man in Speedo’s. The next show on Tuesday 1st March should be every bit as good, so come on down… The line-up for the second show is:RUSSELL BRAND Details as before: Tuesday March 1st
8th February 2005Nathan Barley on Channel 4As mentioned in the previous News item, the new Chris Morris and Charlie Brooker sitcom starts this Friday on Channel 4 at 10pm. What I forgot to mention is that I make a brief appearance in it. If you don’t blink for the entire series you might catch me handing out flyers of my own face in a Shoreditch nightclub while talking crap to Julian Barratt. The show is based on the character from Charlie Brooker’s superb anti-TV guide, TVGoHome 7th February 2005Change of line up for February 15th gigThat’s right – before the first night’s even begun it’s all gone Pete Wrong. Our headline act, Mr Rob Deering, has had to pull out due to other commitments. Fortunately, the human ball of energy that is SPENCER BROWN has stepped in at the last minute. You can see Spencer on Chris Morris’ sitcom, Nathan Barley – Friday 11 th, Channel 4, 10pm. The rest of the line-up remains the same. So far.
28th January 2005New Club - Falling Down With LaughterOn February 15 th, I’m opening up a new comedy club near London Bridge with personal showbiz friend (i.e. housemate) Sy Thomas. FALLING DOWN WITH LAUGHTER at Belushi’s Bar will feature some of the best stand-up and sketch acts around, in an intimate venue with waiter service. I’m very excited. The opening night is as follows: ROB DEERING Belushi’s Bar, Tuesday Feb 15th Future line-ups to be posted on the site shortly…
